There and Back again, An Illustration Project of The Hobbit
Over the course of a couple of years, I undertook the project of creating an illustration for each page of The Hobbit, by J.R.R Tolkein. My illustrations were rarely literal and were usually inspired by a quote or an idea on the page. The project began in 2012 and finished in 2014 and I created 303 illustrations. It taught me more than I had imagined and I am still learning from it to this day.
Each of the illustrations is on 6 x 8 inch paper with various media including, but not limited to: watercolor, ink, gouache, pencil, and collage.
